What is it?
Evanston Green Cup is a competition where small businesses and organizations in Evanston compete to
see who can be the most eco-friendly in the month of August.
Prizes:
1st Place: $200 donation placed in your name to the environmental initiative of your choice.
2nd Place: $100 donation placed in your name to the environmental initiative of your choice.
How do I participate?
Sign up below! Once you sign up all you have to do is send Ecco Living a copy of your water and electricity bills for the month of July and again for August. Oh yes, and let us do a quick walkthrough of your organization so we can give you some green points!
How is the winner determined?
Evanston Green Cup will take into account three major metrics that combine into one final score. We will use the percentage reduction in water usage, the percentage reduction in electricity usage, and the green points your business receives to determine your score.
40% of the score is based on % water reduction
1/3 of the score is based on % electricity reduction
1/3 of the score is based on Green Points
How do I get Green Points?
Your organization gets green points for any environmental dining, cleaning, or tissue supplies you are using that must be used to run your organization. You can also get points for using energy efficient equipment if it is necessary for your organization's purpose. You can get 10 points for each item. Each item must be verified by someone at Ecco Living (We'll just do a quick walk through, it'll take 5 mins we promise!) You can get up to 100 Green Points.
